PT. MRT Jakarta Wins FIDIC Project Awards 2021

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) won global award from Federation Internationale Des Ingenieurs-Conseils (FIDIC) or International Federation of Conseils Engineers in FIDIC Project Awards 2021.

The award was given because Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase 1 of Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI Corridor is considered as an infrastructure that has made real changes to environment and society by implementing FIDIC contract and good project management.

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director, William P. Sabandar said MR Jakarta Phase 1 construction project was the first project from Indonesia that won an international award from FIDIC.

"Thanks to FIDIC for the award that has been given to MRT Jakarta. This is an acknowledgement of Indonesian people's work through MRT Jakarta personnel and all parties involved, for their professional work and integrity in realizing public infrastructure with international quality," he conveyed, Thursday (9/16).

FIDIC President, William Howard explained, the award was given to all project participating in showing construction work from infrastructure sector and make a real changes to the environment and society.

"FIDIC is pleased to promote this work and highlight the importance of this work to society," he said.

FIDIC Board Member of Director, Sarwono Hardjomuljadi congratulated MRT Jakarta for winning Award of Merit from FIDIC.   

   

According to him, MRT Jakarta line construction is a long journey that has been taken to present a big change for the society, especially in Jakarta.

   

"Hopefully MRT Jakarta construction work can be a motivation for other construction works in Indonesia to implement and have a strong project management and refer to international best practice, especially on FIDIC Conditions and Contract which is an absolute requirement to achieve success of construction work," he mentioned.

For information, FIDIC is the largest global international representative body from national association of consultants (Consulting Engineers) from around the world.

FIDIC Project Award 2021 event gives appreciation to projects that are considered have major contribution in improving quality of people's lives by prioritizing principles of Quality, Integrity, and Sustainability, as well as excelling in implementing FIDIC contract with good project management.
